The cover is made from billet steel rather than the usual cast iron or aluminium and is then electro plated. 3/8 npt outlet port for full flow oil systems Pressure relief valve is set at 60 psi but can be set higher by adding a shim under the spring for race applications. Use of an O ring instead of the thin paper gasket provides a better seal and also reduces the distance between the pump gears and cover which in effect blueprints the pump and reduces pressure loss, Distance between the pump gears and the pump face should be checked as there must be some clearance, For oil pumps that have been blueprinted ie the pump face has been machined an original paper gasket can be used to provide necessary clearance.
